MASSENA The Massena Central School District is surveying parents to see if they would let the school nurse test their children for COVID-19, should the school end up in a microcluster zone. The New York State Department of Public Health has created requirements for COVID-19 testing in schools in the event that the community has been targeted as a micro-cluster. Such designations are based on the number of positive coronavirus cases within the community. In the lowest level of this measurement, the yellow zone, schools will be required to test 20% of their students and staff who are at school on a regular basis, the survey says.
