WHECTV Created: July 19, 2021 03:57 PM GATES, N.Y. (WHEC)  Drivers should expect more overnight lane and ramp closures at the I-390/I-490 interchange in Gates this week. The closures have been going on for weeks as part of ongoing construction. The New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) says the westbound travel lanes of I-490 at the I-390 interchange and the on-ramp from I-390 north to I-490 west will close to all traffic on Monday at 10 p.m. and reopen on Tuesday at 6 a.m. The DOT says a detour will be posted directing drivers to take I-3390 north and use the Lyell Avenue exit, then the on-ramps to get onto I-490 west.
