Creating the conditions for change
In 2012, NSW provided schools with increased authority over funding decisions with the introduction of Local Schools Local Decisions (LSLD). While school leaders valued the ability to use available funding to directly address the specific needs of their students in consideration of local context, adapting to increased financial management responsibilities proved challenging, and principals reported that the transition to increasingly localised school management had resulted in additional administrative burden for staff.

Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board: All bus service in Dufferin County including to Robert F. Hall Secondary School are cancelled.
York Region District School Board: All schools open and buses are running.
Peel District School Board: All schools open and buses are running
Simcoe County: All buses in north weather zone have been cancelled.
Guelph and Wellington: Buses have been cancelled in North Wellington, Centre Wellington, as well as Guelph.
OTTAWA Ottawa s public school board wants permission from the Ontario government to create an Indigenous trustee position at the board. The Ottawa Carleton District School Board will vote on a motion Tuesday from Trustee Wendy Hough to write a letter to the Minister of Education to allow the board to have an Indigenous trustee. The OCDSB committee of the whole approved the proposal earlier this month. Hough says the board s goal is to develop a culture of caring within Ottawa s largest school board. We have committed to building a system capacity in equity and inclusive practice to support education, engagement, and reconciliation with historically marginalized groups, said Hough during an OCDSB committee of the whole meeting on Feb. 9.
