Last Updated Monday, February 15, 2021 11:40PM EST A blast of winter weather has descended on the GTA and many parts of southern Ontario and it could drop as much as 25 centimetres of snow on parts of Toronto by Tuesday morning. The snowfall began around 8:30 p.m. and is expected to continue into the morning. Toronto and the regions of York, Halton, Durham, and Peel are all under a snowfall warning. Heavy snow is expected to move into the area this evening into Tuesday morning with snowfall accumulations near 15 cm, possibly reaching 20 to 25 cm in some places,” Environment Canada said in its warning.

A Toronto District School Board pilot program that aims to help Black students graduate from high school successfully is being extended until at least June.
The program gives Black students across the TDSB access to a graduation coach, and many are already welcoming the news.

The pilot program started last March after a 2017 report by York University highlighted the racial inequalities within the Ontario school system when it comes to graduation rates.
AMDSB welcomes new Superintendent of Education

The Avon Maitland District School Board is welcoming a new Superintendent.
Officials with the AMDSB say they have been actively recruiting for a Superintendent of Education since Jodie Baker announced her retirement late last year.
Now they say they are happy to announce that Laura Marotta will be taking the position as of February 12th.
They say she comes to the AMDSB from the York Region District School Board.
