A group of 19 Ontario police officers has launched a constitutional challenge against the provincial and federal governments and several police chiefs, claiming that enforcing sweeping pandemic health restrictions puts them at odds with their oath to uphold the charter.
Fifteen active and four retired members of law enforcement agencies including the Toronto Police Service, York Regional Police Service, Ottawa Police Service, Niagara Regional Police Service, Hamilton Police Service and the RCMP are behind the civil action.

WINDSOR, ONT. An investigation into multiple daytime break-ins in LaSalle led police to a number of stolen firearms inside a Windsor residence. LaSalle police say officers collaborated with the Windsor Police Service in an investigation into four break and enters into homes on the west side of LaSalle that occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 9 between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Following the investigation, four men were identified as suspects and arrested. Police say at the time, no further information was released due to “a larger and complex multi-jurisdictional investigation into this group by multiple police agencies.” York Regional Police Service, Windsor Police Service, LaSalle Police Service and others were involved in the investigation.

Four men from the Greater Toronto Area are facing long lists of charges after Windsor police arrested them in relation to multiple local break-and-enter incidents.
Windsor Police Service said the arrests were the result of an investigation by the property crimes unit that took place a month ago, on Feb. 9.

Patrol officers responded on that date to an incident in the 1700 block of Dominion Boulevard around 1:30 p.m. A group of males had been seen unsuccessfully trying to enter a home.
