STEWART AIRPORT – Allegiant Air will be adding two additional routes from New York Stewart International Airport later this year. They are in addition to the current Myrtle Beach and Florida routes served from the Newburgh area airport.
The Savannah, Georgia and Destin, Florida routes were originally scheduled for 2020 but were put on hold because of the pandemic.
Savannah, Georgia will be served via Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport beginning on May 26. Destin service via Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport will begin on June 13.
The Destin flights will operate twice weekly while the Savannah service will operate four times weekly.

Eight years before she moved up to Newburgh, Cher Vickers started a blog called Newburgh Restoration. Writing from the Bronx and then Amityville, N.Y., she sang the praises of this city of 28,000 in Orange County that not so long ago was called the “murder capital of New York.” Many of the posts featured luscious Victorian houses some intact, others not so much each a representative of the state’s largest historic district outside of New York City.
NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. â The New York International Air Show will be returning in 2021, Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus said.
The popular event had been held until this year at New York Stewart International Airport. It was shifted to the smaller Orange County Airport a few miles away and because of COVID-19, was only a drive-in event.
COVID or not, Neuhaus said the event will return in August with a lineup that will include the F-22 Raptor fighter jets again.

âIt was the biggest event in New York State despite COVID. It happened successfully. By the way, Florida stole our plan and did two or three air shows with our model, which is great,â he said. âBut, they (the F-22s) are coming here. It is on our schedule. It says New Windsor, but it may be Montgomery again. If we donât do it at Stewart again, we will do it at Orange County Airport.â
