Man charged following collision in Hillingdon

A man has been arrested and charged by officers investigating an incident in which a police constable was struck by a car in Manor Way, Hillingdon.
The incident happened at approximately 18:00hrs on Friday, 21 May.
The officer, a PC aged in his 30s, sustained an injury to his leg and was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. He remains in hospital where he is being treated for his injury which has been described as potentially life-changing.
On the evening of 22 May, Almam James-Downes, 24, (05/03/1997) of Rabournmead Drive, Northolt was arrested. He will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on 24 May charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

Daniel John-Jules, commonly known as Danny, denied exceeding the speed limit close to his home in Kensal Rise, north-west London, on July 22 last year, after taking his two children, aged 13 and 15, on a day out in Aylesbury. Giving evidence at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, Police Constable Archie Morrison, of Metropolitan Police, said John-Jules was “aggressive” after he was stopped on Harrow Road – which has a speed limit of 30mph – at around 12.20am.
