Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, and has signed a first-look producing deal with NBCUniversal’s Universal Television Alternative Studio.
“I’m excited to take this next step in my relationship with NBCUniversal and launch a new partnership between my company Unicorn Island Productions and Universal Television Alternative Studio,” Singh said in a statement. “This is a career step that I could only dream of when I started out as a creator, and I look forward to working alongside their team to create projects that bring underrepresented voices to the forefront.”

YouTube creator and Toronto native Lilly Singh’s late-night talk show on NBC is ending after just two seasons.
A Little Late with Lilly Singh first premiered on NBC in September of 2019, taking over the 1:35 am slot of
Last Call with Carson Daly.
This week, Singh said on Instagram that it’s time to say goodbye, adding she will now focus on “the slate of projects” her company, Unicorn Island Productions, is developing.
Reflecting on her time as a late-night show host on NBC, Singh said she “knew this show was about more than me, and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity and support.”

After just shy of two years on the air, Lilly Singh s late-night talk show is officially coming to an end.
The Scarborough-born comedian made history when her show, A Little Late With Lilly Singh, first premiered on NBC in September of 2019 making her the first and only woman of colour on network late-night talk TV.
Now in its second season, the show has been struggling with ratings thanks in part to its 1:30 a.m. time slot and the COVID-19 pandemic. Its last episode is set to air on June 3.
