ApiJect Systems, Corp, a public benefit corporation based in Stamford, CT., announced today the creation of its new Leadership Advisory Board, along with the appointment of the Board s initial six outside members. They will join ApiJect s co-founder and Chairman, Jay Walker, and company CEO, Franco Negron, on this new Board. Mr. Walker and Mr. Negron will serve as ex-officio board members.

The company is building the world s largest pharmaceutical fill and finish manufacturing facilities in Durham, North Carolina s Research Triangle Park. The only pattern in so-called long COVID is there is no pattern, as it appears to affect even those who experienced more mild disease, specialists told clinicians on a CDC call on Thursday. Long COVID is nebulous, particularly because it can overlap with other complications of COVID-19 illness, such as hospitalization complications and post-intensive care syndrome, or even multisystem inflammatory disorder, said Alfonso Hernandez-Romieu, MD, of the CDC.
And there is no standardized definition of the condition, either. Persistent severe fatigue, headache, brain fog, and mild cognitive impairment are some of the most commonly presenting symptoms, and patients tend to present more than 4 weeks after illness. However, Hernandez-Romieu noted that these symptoms can be independent of disease severity, and can be newly occurring or recurring symptoms.

Connecticut health professionals say pregnant women should at least consider getting the COVID vaccine, despite a warning from the World Health Organization that it’s not recommended.
On Tuesday, the WHO published a fact sheet on the Moderna vaccine, containing information about safety, proper dosage and whether it poses any health risks. The sheet mentioned that “the use of this vaccine in pregnant women is currently not recommended, unless they are at risk of high exposure” such as health care workers.
