With many focusing on the recent Cyber Polygon exercise, less attention has been paid to the World Economic Forum’s real ambitions in cybersecurity – to create a global organization aimed at gutting even the possibility of anonymity online. With the governments of the US, UK and Israel on board, along with some of the world’s most powerful corporations, it is important to pay attention to their endgame, not just the simulations.
Amid a series of warnings and simulations in the past year regarding a massive cyber attack that could soon bring down the global financial system, the “information sharing group” of the largest banks and private financial organizations in the United States warned earlier this year that banks “will encounter growing danger” from “converging” nation-state and criminal hackers over the course of 2021 and in the years that follow.

Federal agency issues disaster declaration for DuPage tornado damage Suzanne Baker, Naperville Sun, Ill.
Jul. 16 The U.S. Small Business Administration has authorized federal disaster loan assistance for property owners in Naperville and elsewhere whose homes and businesses were damaged last month by an EF-3 tornado.
Approval comes one day after state and federal officials said requests for a disaster declaration had been made but there had been no response from the SBA nearly a month after the tornado struck.
The SBA s approval means low-interest, long-term loan applications should now be available to residents and business owners in DuPage County as well as the contiguous counties of Cook, Kane, Kendall and Will. The storm s worst damage was in the Naperville and Woodridge areas.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering financial relief to those affected by the June 20 tornado that caused millions of dollars in damage and devastated parts of Naperville, Woodridge and surrounding communities.
The disaster declaration, issued Friday, allows eligible residents and businesses in DuPage and contiguous counties to apply for low-interest, long-term loans to assist with their recovery process.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker requested the federal loan assistance July 8, stressing the need for additional support to help the community members whose lives were upended by the severe storms. The next day, 16 members of Illinois congressional delegation sent a letter to SBA Administrator Isabella Guzman backing his request.
