OneCare Vermont responds to Auditor Hoffer s meritless lawsuit

Wed, 02/03/2021 - 2:44pm tim Vermont Business Magazine OneCare Vermont today responded with strong opposition to a suit filed this morning by Attorney General TJ Donovan on behalf of State Auditor Douglas Hoffer in Washington superior court requiring the organization to provide payroll, salary, and benefit information no other contractor or state partner is required to share.  Although OneCare has already provided the state and the public with the compensation paid to every single OneCare executive, the Auditor is now seeking the pay of other OneCare employees. OneCare said in a statement today that it deems this suit a baseless overreach without purpose or merit.

Norwich University, the country’s oldest private military college, has reported a total of 79 cases, with 69 current cases. The school has had “some significant, egregious and frankly embarrassing incidents of student misconduct that have resulted in the spread of the virus on campus and our inability to contain it,” Norwich President Col. Mark C. Anarumo announced Wednesday evening in a video on the school’s website.

More than 53 organizations across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont have received donations through the program. Casual for a Cause gives Bank employees the opportunity to dress casually on Fridays in exchange for a bi-weekly payroll deduction made to a pool of funds collected during each quarter. The employees then vote on the nonprofits to receive their contributions. The program is entirely voluntary, and each employee sets his/her own level of giving. Approximately 2/3 of the Bank’s employees participate in Casual for a Cause.
