Persons Age 65+ Can Now Get COVID Vaccinations

(RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN)  The Rutherford County Health Department's website shows that persons age 65 and older are now (2/22/2021) eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccinations. In addition, Phase 1b is also in effect for staff members of kindergarten through 12th grade schools and child care facilities. In an effort to get more eligible residents vaccinated, Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron set-up a phone-bank where you talk with a local person who will help set up a vaccination .

Traffic Problems will Continue Growing in Rutherford County Feb 12, 2021 at 05:57 pm by WGNS Traffic continues to grow throughout Rutherford County, which is a growing concern when it comes to roadways and commuters. On Interstate 24 near the Highway 99 interchange, the traffic count has steadily increased from just over 41,000 vehicles in 1996 to more than 104,000 vehicles in 2018. One solution to increased traffic is to add more roads, but of course that can easily be viewed as a temporary solution because as new roads are built, new businesses and residential areas will arise. Roadway changes and the addition of new roads has helped areas like Thompson Lane at Old Fort Parkway. There, the traffic count has gone from nearly 28,000 vehicles in 1996 to 22,308 vehicles in 2018.

(MURFREESBORO)  Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron says littering and illegal dumping has been and continues to be a significant issue across the entire county. He is trying to raise fines for first time offenders to $500 and $1,000 for second offenses. Ketron addressed the Public Works Committee (2/3/2021) and asked for their permission to take the issue before the full commission.
