Geo staffer beaten up by accused on court premises Top Story January 19, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The under trial accused allegedly involved in the killing of Barrister Fahad Malik, attacked the cameraman of Geo News on the premises of Federal Judicial Complex when he was performing his professional duty and brutally beat him with handcuffs and iron rods along with his supporters in presence of the police. Ramna Police had lodged FIR no. 27/21 under Sections 382, 506, 427, 147, 149 PPC against the people arrested in a murder case and their aides and initiated investigation, police said. HC orders Ishraque to surrender

HC orders Ishraque to surrender The High Court on Monday ordered BNP mayoral candidate of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Engineer Ishraque Hossain to surrender before a trial court following appeal by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against his acquittal in a graft case. An HC bench of Justice Md. Salim passed the order, said Khurshid Alam Khan, ACC lawyer. The ACC lawyer said that the High Court has accepted to hear the appeal petition. The court however directed the lower court that deals with the graft case to grant Ishraque bail after his surrender. ACC Assistant Director Shamsul Alam filed two cases with Ramna Police Station on August 29 and 30, 2010 against Ishraque, also son of late former mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation and BNP leader Sadeque Hossain Khoka, and his sister Sarika Sadeque.

‘Killers’ of Usama Satti sacked Islamabad January 9, 2021 Islamabad : The police high ups have dismissed five police personnel involved in the ‘killing’ of Osama Satti from service. The 22-year-old student was gunned down by the patrolling police in the wee hours of Saturday. Notification regarding the dismissal of the five cops – sub inspector Mohammad Iftikhar, Ghulam Mustafa, Shakil Ahmad, Mudassar and Saeed – has been issued by the office SSP (Operations). A criminal case was registered with the Ramna Police Station under sections 302, 148, 149 PPC and 7 Anti-Terrorist Act and the police arrested them on the killing charges.
