LAHORE: The government has imposed section 5 under the Land Acquisition Act-1894, notifying chunks of land required on a priority basis for the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project within revenue limits of Lahore city district. The land identified and notified [measuring over 2,562 kanal] is situated in seven mauzas.
According to a notification signed jointly by the Lahore commissioner, district collector, additional deputy commissioner (revenue), Ravi Urban Development Authority chairman and RUDA land acquisition collectors-1 and 2, the priority land, which has been identified to be acquired included 117 kanal and 8 marla (Mauza Harnaralnpura), seven kanal and 11 marla (Jia Musa), 300 kanal and 13 marla (Bhamma), 300 kanal (Targarh), 37 kanal and 17 marla (Shahdara), 1,226 kanal (Hardo Jabo) and 573 kanal and 3 marla (Karolwar), totaling 2,562 kanal and 12 marl

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has on Saturday made the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project conditional to the Environment Protection Department’s inspection and approval.
According to details, Justice Shahid Karim issued a three-page written order in which the government has been barred to start the project without environmental impact assessment (EIA).
Advocate Sheraz Zaka had filed a complaint in which it was maintained that the environmental laws were not followed in construction of the mega project which would increase pollution in future.
Two Chinese firms to invest in RRUDP
MoUs for billions of dollars signed after meetings with RUDA chairman

Two Chinese companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for investment of billions of dollars in the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP) on Saturday.
Speaking to the media, Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) spokesperson SM Imran said the Chinese investors had signed the MoUs following a meeting with RUDA Chairman Rashid Aziz. He indicated that various international investor groups were expressing their interest in the RRUD plan that had been declared a ‘national project’ by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He highlighted that the China Road and Bridging Company (CRBC), a member of the 4C conglomerate, and Gezhouba Group Company Limited (CGGC), the largest hydropower developer company in Pakistan from China, had signed the MoUs. Delegations of both companies visited the RUDA headquarters to sign the agreements.
