MoUs for billions of dollars signed after meetings with RUDA chairman
LAHORE:
Two Chinese companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for investment of billions of dollars in the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP) on Saturday.
Speaking to the media, Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) spokesperson SM Imran said the Chinese investors had signed the MoUs following a meeting with RUDA Chairman Rashid Aziz. He indicated that various international investor groups were expressing their interest in the RRUD plan that had been declared a ‘national project’ by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He highlighted that the China Road and Bridging Company (CRBC), a member of the 4C conglomerate, and Gezhouba Group Company Limited (CGGC), the largest hydropower developer company in Pakistan from China, had signed the MoUs. Delegations of both companies visited the RUDA headquarters to sign the agreements.

LAHORE : The 43rd meeting of the Punjab Cabinet Committee on Legislative Business was held at Civil Secretariat on Saturday.
The meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Law and Cooperatives Raja Basharat was attended by provincial ministers Raja Yasir Humayun and Rai Taimoor Bhatti, and the secretaries of relevant departments. The meeting approved the drafts of The Punjab Autonomous Bodies and Special Institutions of Education Bill 2019, the Taxila Museum Act and the Punjab Regulation of Plastic Shopping Bags Act 2020. The committee also recommended setting up University of Hafizabad, setting up analytical lab at Livestock Breeding Service Authority in South Punjab, de-notification of non-official members of Lahore Transport Company, appointment of two non-official members of Punjab Bait-ul-Mal Council, nominations of members of Ravi Urban Development Authority and proposals for the Service Rules 2020 of the

LAHORE: The Punjab cabinet on Thursday approved extension of the lease of state land in Cholistan and Rahim Yar Khan on previous rates to the UAE president.
The cabinet’s 39th meeting presided over by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was of the view that the initiative of extending lease would further strengthen ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
The meeting gave approval in principle of Rs5 billion loan to the Ravi Urban Development Authority for acquiring the land. It also approved state land for the master plan of the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project. The authority will present its business plan and financial model for the purpose.
