Novak: OPEC+ taking into account Iran s potential increased output amid possibility that U.S. sanctions could be lifted
TORZHOK, TVER REGION. May 26 (Interfax) - OPEC+ is taking into account Iran s potential for increased oil production amid the possibility that U.S. sanction on the country could be lifted, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has told reporters.
Asked whether OPEC+ is ready for Iranian oil to return to the market if sanctions are lifted, Novak said: Potentially, we are always keeping such a possibility in mind. And Iran has the potential to restore [production]. We have always advocated that the sanctions are primarily discriminatory against Iran, and therefore the potential is there. But we must take this into account on the basis of the real growth of production volumes. We will consider the balance together.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak on Tuesday offered to work with Saudi Arabia on hydrogen production, speaking during an online meeting of the intergovernmental commission of Russia and Saudi Arabia. We have a proposal to create a working group on hydrogen energy, Novak said.
Hydrogen has gained traction as the future green fuel of choice, increasingly touted as a way to decarbonise emissions-intensive heavy industry and transportation.
