New Jersey Blood Services, a division of New York Blood Center, will hold blood drives during American Heart Month.
Blood donations are needed for many types of patients including heart patients, cancer patients, trauma victims and many others.
The Spotswood VFW 4589 will hold blood drives from 1-7 p.m. Feb. 3, 10 and 16 at the post hall, 33 Daniel Road, Spotswood.
Appointments are strongly suggested. Walk-ins will be accepted if space allows.

Edward Mendlowitz will discuss the 5,421-year history of Taxation, Investing and Finance at 10 a.m. Feb. 7.
Mendlowitz, a CPA, adjunct professor in Fairleigh Dickinson’s MBA program, and emeritus partner in WithumSmith+Brown, will cover highlights of the past 54 centuries in a two-hour program.
Teaneck foundation highlights New Jerseyans making a difference
TEANECK For many in New Jersey and elsewhere, the name Russ Berrie still rings a bell: the once-ubiquitous company that popularized plastic Troll dolls, plush toys, and other gifts for kids and adults alike.
Its namesake died in 2002, but Russell Berrie s footprint is still felt throughout the Garden State, as the Russell Berrie Foundation, which he founded in 1985, continues to advocate for the unsung heroes in New Jersey communities.
Berrie s widow Angelica is now the president of the Russell Berrie Foundation, and said much of the nonprofit s work is focused in three areas the North Jersey region, the local Jewish population, and people with diabetes. (The Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center, named for Russell s mother, is located at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City.)

Princeton University Concerts (PUC) is expanding its digital offerings for the remainder of the 2020-21 season to replace planned in-person concerts, many of which will be rescheduled to future seasons.
The university’s performing arts series has recast all of its virtual programming to directly address socially relevant topics. This includes: a new podcast series, Breathe in Music, bringing PUC’s popular Live Music Meditation series to a digital format; a new series of conversations with musicians and prominent arts thinkers about the impact of COVID-19 on the performing arts hosted by multidisciplinary artist and WNYC host Helga Davis; the release of new video episodes of mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato’s Sing for Today, in which the opera star responds to current events through the lens of song and conversations; and virtual performances and live Q&As with world-renowned musicians
