ROCKFORD   SwedishAmerican celebrated the impending opening of its new Women and Children s Hospital Thursday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.  The four-story, 120,000-square-foot building, located at 1350 Charles Street, is scheduled to open on March 23 to patients and will provide new technology, larger delivery rooms, and state-of-the-art operating rooms. UW Health pediatric specialty physicians will work in a clinic on the first floor. Labor and delivery will be on the second floor. The neonatal intensive care unit will be on the third floor. The fourth floor will be for mothers and newborn babies.  For SwedishAmerican President and CEO Tom O Connor, the $55 million facility is a testament to the hospital s dedication to improving patient and family experiences.
