NJ s COVID vaccine megasites now allowing walk-ins; here s where

The mega-sites join a growing number of vaccine providers forgoing appointments in recent weeks.  This week, Bergen County s vaccination center at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus began accepting walk-ins for the Moderna vaccine. Walk-ins are available this week from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and are only available to those who can verify that they live, work or study in Bergen County with identification or a letter.   The same is the case at Passaic County s mega-clinic in a former Modell s Sporting Goods store at Plaza 46, a strip mall at 1710 Route 46 west in Woodland Park. This week s walk-in hours were from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday and will be from noon to 4 p.m. on Friday.

NJ county urges COVID-19 vaccines ahead of in-person high school, college graduations WABC One county in New Jersey is urging high school and college seniors to get vaccinated against the novel coronavirus ahead of in-person graduation ceremonies. Morris County and Atlantic Health System launched an initiative to urge students to schedule appointments at the Morris County Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Center at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall in Rockaway Township via the Atlantic Health System s website. We are grateful for the fast work of our county professionals who organized this important initiative in just a few days, Morris County Commissioner Director Stephen Shaw said. I also want to recognize the extensive expertise Atlantic Health System staff are bringing to the program as they insert appointments for these young men and women into the intricate operations at the busy vaccination center.

Morris County teacher receives 100,000th COVID vaccine at Rockaway mega-site

ROCKAWAY  The Morris County vaccine mega-site has increased its number of inoculations per day and administered its 100,000th dose this week to a Morris County schoolteacher.  The site, housed in the former Sears store at the Rockaway Townsquare mall, can now vaccinate up to 3,500 people per day, seven days a week. On Tuesday the site, which opened in January, reached the 100,000 milestone.  We know many people are still patiently waiting, but we are making great strides and we will get to them,” said Morris County Commissioner Douglas Cabana. Susan Henry, a Morris County resident and teacher, received the milestone dose, being vaccinated along with her husband, Paul Henry, also a teacher. Last month, Gov. Phil Murphy announced the site would administer up to 2,400 vaccinations a day at its full capacity but increased the limit this week.
