According to a discussion I had recently with Craig Collins of the Calgary Police Service, hate crimes and hate incidents against Asians and Asian Canadians in Calgary have increased dramatically lately. Thankfully, however, they have not reached the levels of violence in the great republican behemoth to the south.
But Canada and Calgary must judge themselves by their own higher standards, and not the standards of any foreign country. Here, the levels of hate crimes and hate incidents we do have are shameful.

Alberta’s 2021 Capital Plan spends $20.7 billion over three years to create 90,000 jobs and protect Albertans’ livelihoods as part of Alberta’s Recovery Plan.

In addition to continued funding for projects already underway, the 2021 Capital Plan provides $825.8 million for new projects over the next three years, including critical health-care infrastructure and 14 school projects around the province.
“As we continue to protect Albertans from COVID-19, we are focused on protecting livelihoods by planning ahead, creating jobs and preparing for recovery through our multibillion-dollar Capital Plan. These record investments are a key part of the Alberta Recovery Plan to build, diversify, and create new jobs. Af
