Police responding to fatal traffic crash at Yeppoon
Police are investigating a crash that sadly claimed the life of a 16-year-old boy overnight, near Yeppoon.
Initial investigations indicate the silver Ford Falcon sedan was travelling south on Appleton Drive near the Fig Tree Creek Bridge shortly after midnight, before it left the road and rolled.
The 16-year-old Taranganba boy was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two other occupants, the 18-year-old male driver and 16-year-old female passenger, were treated for minor injuries and later transported to the Rockhampton Base Hospital for observations.
Police are appealing for anyone with dashcam or who may have noticed the vehicle in the area around midnight to come forward.
A teenage boy, 16, died after he was flung from a car in central Queensland overnight. The two other occupants are in a stable condition at Rockhampton Base Hospital.

More than $2000 has been raised for a Rockhampton delivery driver unable to pay his rent while in hospital for at least 20 weeks.
Adrian Peddell, a father of three, was found unconscious in his bathroom on December 18.
His friend Trish Honnery said he was immediately taken to Rockhampton Base Hospital.
âHe had three strokes and a heart attack,â she said. âHe ended up getting an infection as well.â
After a week, Mr Peddell was transferred to Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane.
âOnce he got there he showed a bit of improvement,â Ms Honnery said.
âHeâs still got an infection. Heâs got to wait now for a heart operation.â

RACQ Capricorn Rescue and paramedics were called to a location on Fire Creek Rd at 6.57pm. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the patient had a suspected hip injury. Subscriber only Wednesday afternoon, RACQ Capricorn Rescue was tasked by Queensland Health to attend a single vehicle roll over on the Baralaba Rannes Road about 15 kilometres to the east of Baralaba. Two patients in their 70s were trapped in their vehicle after it left the road and drove into a culvert, consequently flipping the vehicle onto it s roof. A woman was extricated from the vehicle and flown to Rockhampton hospital in a stable condition. Her partner was more difficult to access in the damaged vehicle and was extricated not long after. He was taken to Baralaba airfield and picked up by the Royal Flying Doctor Service and flown to Rockhampton in a stable condition.
