IN THE spirit of Christmas, Racing Queensland was left with no other option but to divide Friday’s QTIS 3YO Maiden (1100m) at Callaghan Park, thereby expanding the program out to nine races.
As such, the stage is set for one of the busiest Friday race meetings ever staged by the Rockhampton Jockey Club with 106 horses declared to start.

SCHOOLGIRL Amarni Vale has revealed the novel training technique that could get her pet pooch Teeka the win in the LJ Hooker Rockhampton Dashi Dash.
The second edition of the dachshund race will be held at Callaghan Park Racecourse from about 6pm on Friday following the Rockhampton Jockey Club’s Kids Christmas Race Day.
It has attracted 36 hopefuls, up by eight on last year’s inaugural event.
Reigning champion Harley, owned by Debra Wilkinson, is back to defend the title he won last year. Debra Wilkinson with Harley, who won the inaugural Dashi Dash last year and will be back to defend his title on Friday.

IT WAS a momentous albeit “magic” day for a group of Rockhampton racing stakeholders on Saturday when they shared in the spoils of a trio of feature wins at Eagle Farm in Brisbane.
All three winners - Master Jamie, Sweet Dolly and Alpine Edge - are owned fully or in part by well-known Rocky racing identities, while the trio were graduates of Magic Millions Gold Coast Sales.
