Jamie Liam Hutchinson’s behaviour during both offences was described as “unusual” and “irrational” during sentencing in Rockhampton District Court on March 5. Hutchinson, 28, pleaded guilty to the offences he carried out on April 1 and July 3, 2020. Crown prosecutor Matthew Fleetwood said the first victim opened the door for Hutchinson and his female companion about 10pm on April 1 at the BP on Kent St. Hutchinson asked where the phone chargers were and went to them once pointed in the right direction.

Judge Jeff Clarke said a concerning factor was the defendant, 54, told the victim “you are hot”. “What happened here was, perhaps, every parents’ nightmare,” he said. The defendant first touched the child’s thigh, then slipped his hand under her shirt and touched her stomach before saying “you are hot” and then moving his hand up to touch the child’s breasts. He then asked the child if he could kiss her breasts, to which she responded no and he stopped touching her.

Rockhampton bookkeeper jailed for fraud

Premium Content Subscriber only A Rockhampton bookkeeper is now serving time at a Queensland prison after she was found guilty of fraud. Deanne Davis was sentenced to three years and six months prison by Judge Jeff Clarke. She was ordered to serve 12 months in prison with an operational period of four years. In the Rockhampton District Court on December 9, she was found guilty of one count of fraud. The fraud was conducted during her time working at Mango 4, trading as CQ Business Solutions, which is now in liquidation. Ms Davis is serving her time at the Southern Queensland Correctional Centre, located between Toowoomba and Ipswich.
