The Chhattisgarh CM has decided to expand the scope of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana and to cover all the major Kharif crops like maize, soyabean, sugarcane, kodo-kutki, pulses along with paddy under it from the next season, the public relations department official said.

Farmers in Chhattisgarh will get an input subsidy of Rs 10,000 per acre for cultivating some crops identified by the government other than paddy from the Kharif season 2021-22, an official said on Thursday.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel here on Wednesday in a bid to encourage cultivation of crops other than paddy in Chhattisgarh, which known as the rice bowl of central India because of extensive cultivation of rice in the state.

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], May 20 (ANI): Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday decided to provide an input subsidy of Rs 10,000 per acre to the farmers who will utilize the paddy cultivation area for farming of other identified Kharif crops, in place of paddy, from upcoming Kharif season 2021-22.
According to a press release, the decision to expand the scope of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana from the upcoming Kharif season 2021-22 to provide input subsidy at the rate of Rs 9,000 per acre to the producers of all the major Kharif crops like maize, soya bean, sugarcane, kodo-kutki, Arhar was taken by the state Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in a meeting on Wednesday.

The Chhattisgarh government is all set to credit the bank accounts of farmers in the state on May 21 under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana being launched by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
The decision to deposit NYAY funds directly in the bank accounts of farmers was taken in a cabinet sub-committee meeting held earlier in May 2021 under the chairmanship of Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey.
The scheme was announced by former Congress President Rahul Gandhi earlier in 2020, and it aims to provide an additional respite to the farmers of the state while boosting the rural economy. The stimulus is also aimed at helping farmers battle the pandemic-led economic downturn.
