Show cause notices were issued to 27 Telangana government teaching hospital doctors seeking explanation why action should not be taken against them for unauthorised absence from duties.
The doctors got the jobs in various departments including Neurology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatric surgery, and other specialities.
They were posted to duties as assistant professors, tutors, at Osmania Medical College, Koti, Gandhi Hospital, Musheerabad, Niloufer Hospital, Red Hills, Institute of Mental Health, Erragadda, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad, and other teaching hospitals.
Senior officials said that they were absent after attending duties for a few days to months.

Hyderabad: A young couple in Adilabad allegedly killed themselves by consuming poison after their families objected to their relationship.
The incident took place at Degama village of Talamadugu police jurisdiction in Adilabad district and the couple died while undergoing treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Adilabad.
According to Adilabad police officials, the couple approached their parents for marriage and faced strong opposition despite belonging to the same caste, eventually leading to the suicide.
A case has been registered and police have taken up the investigation.

Minister inaugurates 50-bed Mother and Child Hospital
State Energy Minister Balineni Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday said that the medical infrastructure in the State would be given a facelift to provide better health services to people.
Inaugurating the upgraded Mother and Child Hospital here into a 50-bed hospital, he commended the health professionals for effectively handling the health situation in the district.
The Government General Hospital, the nodal medical centre to treat COVID-19 patients, would be developed into a super-speciality hospital, he said during the review meeting of the Hospital Development Committee with District Collector Pola Bhaskar and other medical officers.
