Lalu s condition is stable, recovering gradually: AIIMS doctor   Tue, Jan 26 2021 04:02:42 PM By Ashish Srivastava New Delhi, Jan 26 (IANS) The health of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad who was admitted to AIIMS after a lung infection, is gradually improving, Dr Rakesh Yadav, who is supervising the team looking after him, told IANS. His condition has improved slightly from the day he was admitted, Yadav added. The doctor informed that Lalu had developed pulmonary edema, a condition when excess fluid gets collected in the lungs. Fluid retention occurred in his lungs which led to pneumonia infection, he said. However, the overall condition of the Rashtriya Janata Dal chief is said to be stable now. He is able to talk and sit for a while. While still being kept in the Intensive Care Unit, he is not on ventilator or oxygen support, Yadav said.

The doctor s priority is to cure the infection of the lungs and pneumonia, sources said. Jailed RJD supremo, who was undergoing treatment at a Ranchi hospital, was having trouble breathing for the last two-three days. On Friday, he was found to be having pneumonia. Considering his age, we have decided to shift him to AIIMS- Delhi on the advice of doctors for better treatment, RIMS Director Dr Kameshwar Prasad had said.

In his letter which he called an Azadi Patra , Tej Pratap addressed his father as the messiah of the poor and deprived section of the society and urged the President to free him. Pratap s earnest appeal was however riddled with spelling mistakes. The single line appeal in Hindi had five errors.

Breathless Lalu shifted to AIIMS in Delhi The former Bihar chief minister had been receiving treatment at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda central jail since December 2017 after his conviction in the multi-crore fodder scam RJD chief Lalu Prasad was flown to AIIMS, New Delhi, in a chartered flight on Saturday evening after he complained of breathing discomfort caused by pneumonia. Lalu, the former Bihar chief minister who is serving a jail term in fodder scam cases, had been receiving treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) in Ranchi. After a medical team advised better care, the 72-year-old leader was flown to Delhi around 6pm, Jharkhand inspector-general of prisons Birendra Bhusan told The Telegraph.
