Unused ventilators at Rajkot Civil Hospital Rajkot: The congress on Saturday alleged that nearly 100 ventilators are lying unused and gathering dust at the Rajkot Civil Hospital (RCH) while people are dying due to shortage of the device. However, the civil hospital rejected the allegations. Senior congress leader Gayatriba Vaghela found large number of unused ventilators during an inspection of the hospital on Saturday. “The medical superintendent told me that these ventilators were allocated by the government just 15 days ago and the process of installing them has begun. “But the question is when there is a tremendous shortage of ventilators why the hospital took two weeks to install the same? Are these ventilators out of order or does the hospital doesn’t have staff to install these machines,” Vaghela told TOI.
