The train runs with an engine on the front and one at the back. This means that there is no need to attach-detach bankers in the ghat sections and subsequently cuts down the journey time.
The Central Railwaysâ 22221/22222 Rajdhani Express was inaugurated on 19 January 2019 on a bi-weekly basis. Its frequency was later increased to four times a week and now the train will operate every day from 19 January 2021. The train now leaves CSMT at 16.10 hrs and reaches Hazrat Nizamuddin at 10.05 hrs. It then leaves Hazrat Nizamuddin at 17.15 hrs and arrives at CSMT at 11.50 hrs.

Etawah : , Jan 18 (IANS) Eight cows were killed and six were injured after speeding Rajdhani Express mowed them down near Tamera Ki Madaiya village on Delhi-Howrah route in Jaswantnagar area of Etawah district.
The incident took place on Sunday, between Jaswantnagar and Balrai railway stations.
According to the villagers, a herd of cattle was grazing near the tracks when 14 of them were mowed down by the Rajdhani Express.
Eight cows died on the spot, while six suffered critical injuries.

Indian Railways Central Railway zone which operates 22221/22222 Rajdhani Express which had its inaugural run on 19 January 2019. This bi-weekly train with one First AC, Three AC 2-Tier, 8 AC 3-Tier and one pantry car, departed from CSMT every Wednesday and Saturday at 14.50 hrs and reached Hazrat Nizamuddin at 10.20 hrs next day, halting at Kalyan, Nasik Road, Jalgaon, Bhopal, Jhansi and Agra Cantt.
