RAKUB continues to help farmers’ recoup Covid-19 losses 316 RAJSHAHI, Feb 16, 2021 (BSS) – Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has been playing an effective role in recouping the existing losses being caused by the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the country’s northwest region. The specialized commercial bank has been providing loans to the affected people in agriculture and other sectors so that they can get back to their normal life after the best uses of their borrowed money. The bank management revealed this while addressing a daylong review and evaluation related monthly business meeting held at its board room yesterday. Chairman of the bank’s board of directors Roisul Alam Mondal addressed the meeting as chief guest virtually with Managing Director-in-Charge Muhammad Idrish in the chair. General Managers Ruhul Amin and Kamil Burhan Ferdous also spoke.

Banks disbursed Tk 120.78 billion or 46 per cent of the agricultural credit disbursement target during the July- December period of FY21. The annual agricultural credit target for FY 21 has been set at Tk 262.92 billion. Of the Tk 120.78 billion disbursed so far, eight state-owned banks disbursed Tk 54.41 billion while the remaining Tk 66.37 billion was disbursed by private banks. Banks also have recovered Tk 140.91 billion of the farm credit disbursed in the first six months of current fiscal, which was Tk 115 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal.

BB stretches disbursement of stimulus packages by March Staff Correspondent 28th January, 2021 08:30:16 Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir has thanked 10 banks for achieving 100 percent loan disbursement target set by the central bank under the stimulus packages for CMSMEs. The banks are BRAC, Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Bank Asia, Prime, One, Eastern, Uttara, Modhumoti and Bank Alfalah. The governor in a virtual meeting with the Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers of scheduled banks asked for exhausting all stimulus packages by March31, to help revive the economy from loss caused by pandemic. Bangladesh Bank arranged a meeting with all the scheduled banks in an interval of every three months chaired by governor.
