ST. PAUL A North Dakota-based snack company claims a former executive wrongfully took more than $1 million from the business, more than initially alleged in a civil suit filed in early October.
An amended complaint filed by Giants Snacks in late October in Minnesota U.S. District Court alleged Lucy Spiekermeier stole or misappropriated $1,669,267 by writing checks to herself and another unnamed person. The business in Wahpeton, N.D., also claimed she wrongfully reimbursed herself and used company funds to pay a student loan while she worked for Giants as a treasurer and secretary.
