Teen named and charged over Boston assault An 18-year-old male has been named and charged by police after a serious assault in Boston. A police cordon was put in place after the incident, which happened at around 6.15pm on Tuesday, July 28. Hikmet Maez, of Spilsby Road in Boston, was charged by police with GBH in connection with this incident. A police cordon was put in place on Red Lion Street in Boston. Photo: Rafael Gamito Maez was remanded in custody before appearing at Lincoln Magistrates Court during the morning of Thursday, July 30. He appeared in court on charges of GBH and has been remanded into custody to return for a trial date at Lincoln Crown Court at 10am on August 27.

Staff absences force Lincoln school to send whole year group home Year 9 students will not return until January Priory City of Lincoln Academy. | Photo: School website A whole year group at a school in Lincoln must now stay at home for the rest of the week and not return until January “due to continuing staff absence” who are self isolating. Richard Trow, Headteacher at The Priory City of Lincoln Academy, sent a letter and email to parents and carers of Year 9 students on Monday, December 14. The 168 students in Year 9 will be able to return to the academy on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. All the other year groups are attending the academy as normal.

Holbeach lorry driver caused death of two friends when he drove into back of car  | Updated: 15:48, 15 December 2020 A lorry driver caused a double fatal crash when he drove straight into the back of a car waiting to turn right off the A17, Lincoln Crown Court was told today (Tuesday). Kelvin Mason (52) failed to see the Citroen Xsara in time to stop and although he braked it was too late and his 18-tonne lorry smashed into the back of the car. Joyce Traves (83) and her friend Mary Blades (84), who were both passengers in the car, died as a result of the injuries they received in the collision at Swineshead in August 2018.
