NEW JERSEY - The limits on visitors remain in most Garden State hospitals, as the COVID-19 pandemic s second wave has kept them in the red zone.
Months ago, hospitals across the state in adopting visitation guidelines from the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA). This standardized policy for hospital visitation provides color codes based on the level of virus risk (virus risk is determined by COVID-19 levels in the community, the level of COVID-19 patients at each hospital, staffing levels, and inventories of PPE supplies).

As New Jersey’s hospitals continue to inoculate healthcare workers with the COVID-19 vaccine, officials on Thursday reported another 4,319 cases of the coronavirus and 77 additional confirmed deaths in the state, while hospitalizations dropped for the first time in a week.

Gov. Phil Murphy will hold press conference Thursday morning in Woodbridge to wrap up New Jersey’s first snowstorm of the year a nor’easter that lashed the state with winds gusts of more than 50 mph along the Jersey Shore and dropped at least 10 inches of snow in northwestern counties according to preliminary counts.
The 9 a.m. gathering at the New Jersey Statewide Traffic Management Center on King Georges Road will be streamed live on the governor’s YouTube.com channel.
Murphy will be joined by state Transportation Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti, State Police Superintendent Colonel Pat Callahan, state Homeland Security Director Jared Maples and Joseph Fiordaliso, the president of the Board of Public Utilities.
