Power outages, freezing fog, winter weather in the Brazos Valley

Updated: 10:43 AM CST January 12, 2021 BRYAN, Texas Winter weather can be fun, as many of your pictures and videos you sent in to KAGS shows. However, for many, including our law enforcement and first responder teams, get added risk as they try to do their jobs in tough conditions. With the Bryan-College Station area seeing up to five inches of snow in some parts, we had hazardous road conditions. Over in Robertson County, some areas there saw up to eight inches of snow and first responders and law enforcement worked through the storm, to the morning commute and even into the afternoon with crashes and stranded motorists.

Winter Weather hits the Brazos Valley Sunday

POWER OUTAGES REPORTED College Station Utilities said a broken limb is to blame for a power outage in the Woodcreek neighborhood. They are working to fix the problems but don t have an estimate as to how long the outage may last. Bryan Texas Utilities is reporting there is an outage affecting customers in the Miramont, Copperfield, Austin s Colony, and Steep Hollow areas. That outage is affecting about 1,000 customers at this time. There is no estimate on repairs. Also affecting BTU customers, the outage in the Woodlake area in College Station and the Old Cameron Ranch Road area. They believe the causes to be weather-related.

Robertson County celebrates opening of new building

Robertson County unveils state of the art Sheriff s Office and Jail Community leaders hosted a ribbon-cutting in front of the new building and offered tours of the facility Tuesday. Author: Tristan Lewis (KAGS) Updated: 10:51 PM CST December 15, 2020 FRANKLIN, Texas Robertson County celebrated the opening of its new Sheriff s Office and Jail Tuesday. Community leaders hosted a ribbon-cutting in front of the new building and offered tours of the facility. Members of the community listened to several speakers and were treated to a casual dinner after the opening. Also present were the Masonic Lodges of Robertson County, Franklin American Legion Color Guard, and the Franklin High School Band.
