Paul Nicholls has held onto his impressive lead after Match Week 15 and as we draw ever closer to the seasons’ conclusion, it is hard to see him being run down.
This week sees seven matches slated and potential do or die clashes for Brisbane, Perth and Wellington, with the distance between all three and the top six beginning to become a real concern.
Sydney FC and Melbourne City on Saturday night looks like the blockbuster of the round, with the winner likely to be lauded as strong favourites heading into the finals.

Tonight’s clash between Wellington Phoenix and Melbourne City in Wollongong could be one of the games of the season, but is the A-League now only preaching to the converted?
How will City bounce back from that 2-1 defeat to Western United last Thursday?
Paddy Kisnorbo’s side went into that game at AAMI Park on the back of a six-game winning streak but despite Craig Noone opening the scoring and City amassing 27 shots on goal, they still tasted defeat.

Adelaide skipper Stefan Mauk scored a brace while impact substitute Kusini Yengi scored one goal and assisted another to deliver the Reds their fourth win on the bounce and dial up the pressure on Victory boss Grant Brebner.
Jake Brimmer s spectacular free kick got Victory off to the perfect start in the 28th minute, before the Reds hit back, then seized control at Marvel Stadium.
Brebner made four changes to the team thumped 6-0 by Melbourne City, while Adelaide goalkeeper James Delianov failed a late fitness test, opening the door for youngster Joe Gauci.
A lively Victory had three big chances to snare the lead in the space of six minutes - with Robbie Kruse scuppering two in the 12th and 16th minutes and Rudy Gestede heading another over the bar in the 17th.

Robbie Kruse burst onto the A-League scene in 2007 with Queensland Roar (now Brisbane Roar), providing a strong platform to launch a career which took the Socceroos ace to the German Bundesliga and back to Melbourne Victory, where the 32-year-old has plied his trade since 2019.
Kruse made his debut for the Roar on his 19th birthday against Wellington Phoenix. The promising teenager scored on debut in the 45th minute, combining with Michael Zullo (18 years old at the time) to devastating effect on either flank for Frank Farina s side.
Zullo scored one before assisting Kruse s maiden A-League goal to help the Roar notch a win over Wellington – an important result for the Queenslanders who had recorded one win in six games to open the 2007/08 campaign.
