Why the TV remake of Clarice is an insult to the original
Seriously, why would CBS attempt a remake of âThe Silence of the Lambsâ?
The network has been tackling remakes with unmistakable gusto. Now there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, provided that it does the original justice.
And the network failed to learn anything from the flop that is âThe Equalizerâ with Queen Latifah. The TV series misfired for several reasons, among those were the mediocre storylines and terribly lame action.
If anything, it got pity views largely due to Latifahâs involvement. Of course, this is more of a testament to star-clout once again providing a safety net.

The 16-year-old who plays Delilah opposite Latifah s character Robyn McCall spoke with
People about the bond the pair have and the impact that it has had on her.
“I think because we have so many intimate scenes together and also some hard ones as well that we have been able to kind of create a bond as we ve been able to film,” Hayes shares. “There are things that I ve just picked up and seen. Every time that I do a scene with her, I m learning and soaking everything up. I think one of those things has definitely been having your own opinions on set.”
If you want to see how widely and profoundly the discussion of racial reckoning in American life has come to permeate popular culture, check out âThe Falcon and the Winter Soldierâ on Disney+.
The six-part series, which concluded with an episode that started streaming Friday, stars Anthony Mackie as Falcon Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier James âBuckyâ Barnes. They are characters from the world of Marvel Comics and Studios.
Donât let the word comics mislead you. This is not only a highly engaging action-adventure series about who will be the next Captain America superhero, it also offers an informed discussion about symbolism, race, American history, heroism and image. Seriously, if I was back in graduate school trying to get a Ph.D. in American Studies, Iâd be looking at this series as the stuff of which dissertations are made.
