RAVI KUMAR Tribune News Service Panchkula, January 29 At 10.7 per cent, the lowest vaccination turnout was recorded on January 18. As many as 376 healthcare workers took the first jab against the target of 1,140, the Health Department said. Despite vaccination being held at 13 session sites, the coverage rate stood at 33 per cent – far lowest than first day’s coverage of 94.7 per cent. The vaccination drive is being held at Civil Dispensary, Sector 7, National Health Mission (NHM) office, Civil Hospital, Sub-Divisional Hospital, Kalka, Primary Health Centre (PHC), Morni, PHC, Nanakpur, PHC, Pinjore, PHC, Surajpur, PHC, Old Panchkula, Community Health Centre (CHC), Raipur Rani, PHC, Barwala, PHC, Hangola, and PHC, Kot.

40-year-old sanitation worker first in Panchkula district, Haryana to get vaccine dose

3039 Panchkula, January 16 A 40-year-old sanitation worker was given the first Covid-19 vaccine at the Civil Dispensary in Sector 4 here as Panchkula began its mass vaccination drive at three centres today. She was the first beneficiary from the district as well as the state to get the jab. The worker identified as, Saroj Bala, who has been working at the same dispensary for the past 20 years, received a Covishield jab. While interacting with mediapersons Saroj said she was feeling fine after getting vaccinated. She was subsequently kept at the observation room for 30 minutes to watch for any side-effects of the vaccine.

(Representative Image) In a serious development, following Rajasthan, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, the states of Gujarat and Haryana have also confirmed that they have been hit by avian influenza (bird flu), reports Times of India. The samples taken from two poultry farms in Haryana s Panchkula district and of migratory birds from Gujarat s Junagarh district have tested positive for the H5N8 virus which causes the disease. The samples were tested at Bopal-based ICAR-National Institute of High-Security Animal Diseases (ICAR-NIHSAD).
