New logo, plans for regional airport
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey said it plans to “re-energize” New York Stewart International Airport as flight volume returns to pre-pandemic levels.
The agency, which said it has invested $37 million at the airport since 2018, on Tuesday (March 30), announced an incentive program to encourage airlines to add new routes, launched a marketing campaign (including a new logo, below) and completed a federal customs station that can process up to 400 arriving international passengers per hour.
The incentive program will waive fees and provide marketing support for airlines that begin nonstop service to new destinations, especially internationally. (The agency has entered into a joint venture with Groupe Aeroports de Paris, which operates the airports in the French capital.)

The Malaysian operations of Genting Malaysia Bhd should “turn around after the second quarter” this year, but the “drag” on the group caused by an associate, Empire Resorts Inc – which runs Resorts World Catskills, in upstate New York in the United States – “needs to be resolved soon,” said a Wednesday note from the Nomura banking group.
While Genting Malaysia’s first-quarter earnings “will likely be impacted due to an approximately one-month closure” of its flagship Resorts World Genting casino resort (pictured) near the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, “second-quarter 2021 onwards should improve, in our view, led by… progress” in the drive to vaccinate consumers around the region against Covid-19, wrote Nomura analysts Tushar Mohata and Alpa Aggarwal.
The Museum at Bethel Woods Opening With a Mind-Blowing Exhibit
Whenever we are entertaining people who are not from our area, one of our favorite places to take them is the Museum at Bethel Woods. The history of the venue and the vibe of the museum make it the perfect place for music lovers of all generations. We older people can reminisce and the youngsters can learn. After all, we are talking about the site of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair.
The Museum will be opening its doors for the season on Saturday, April 3, and they’ve got a very cool exhibit planned to kick off the season. The exhibit is called Lights, Color, Fashion: Psychedelic Posters and Patterns of 1960s San Francisco. Complete with black lights and a light show, just like in the 60s. Think Grateful Dead, Haight-Ashbury, Jefferson Airplane. You know, the good old days.
