COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Officials with the Richland One School District have announced that students will still be required to wear face masks on school grounds.
Superintendent Dr. Craig Witherspoon sent a message to students and staff regarding the
“Late this afternoon, the governor issued an executive order regarding the wearing of face coverings in public schools. We have not had an opportunity to review and assess the 15-page order in its entirety. We are also awaiting guidance and additional information from the S.C. Department of Education and the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control.

COLUMBIA, S.C. Richland County School District One is looking to fill 50 positions this Saturday at a job fair.
The district says the jobs are in its Summer Learning Academy, the district s academic and STEM program for pre-kindergarten through fourth grade students,
The event, set for May 1, will be held virtually. Interested certified teachers, instructional assistants and media specialists can complete the online form to schedule an interview for the May Day event.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Richland One School District officials said Friday they plan to open up more days of in-person learning starting March 8.
By the end of March, the district plans to allow all students to return to five day a week in-person learning if they so choose.
Officials said they closely watch COVID-19 data for Richland County, and the recent decline in new cases, as well as the decline in the percent positive, allows them to make the changes.
