POCAHONTAS A 19-year-old woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash in rural Pocahontas County on Saturday. According to the Iowa State Patrol, Rebecca Hansen, 19, of Pocahontas, was driving a 2006 Pontiac Torrent eastbound on Highway 3 about 10 miles west of Pocahontas around 2:23 p.m. on Saturday. The State Patrol’s report said that Hansen had lost control of her vehicle and entered the north ditch, where the vehicle rolled. Hansen was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. She died at the scene. The accident remains under investigation. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office, Pocahontas Police Department, Fonda Police Department, Pocahontas Fire and EMS, and Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

Pocahontas Woman Killed in Single Vehicle Crash By charguth December 13, 2020 9:52 am clipart.com Pocahontas, IA (KICD) A Pocahontas teenager is dead after she was involved in a single vehicle crash Saturday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol was called to the scene on Highway 3 around 10 miles west of Pocahontas shortly before three o’clock when responding units determined an SUV was eastbound when the driver, 19-year-old Rebecca Hansen, lost control, entered the ditch and rolled. Hansen was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
