Over 10,000 seek homes under rural-urban housing initiative

Speaking with Daily Trust in Abuja at the weekend, the President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Alhaji Aliyu Wammako, said the association was working with other agencies to bridge the gap through the Rural-Urban Housing Initiative (RUHI) which was conceived in 2020. Alhaji Wammako said, “We felt there’s a way that we can reduce the housing deficit in Nigeria because we are mandated to provide affordable houses to Nigerians, and it is on this note that we brought RUHI, and this is what we are doing now to make sure that in each local government area we are visible, and possibly we will build 100 housing units; in doing that we believe we are encouraging viable communities and also we’re creating economic clusters.

Noida: Flagging labour shortage at construction sites, builders’ body Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of Indian (Credai) has said delivery timelines of realty projects could be hit as more than 25% migrant workers have left for their hometowns. UP-Rera has taken cognizance of the situation and says it may offer deadline extensions to builders. Pankaj Bajaj, president of Credai-NCR, said: “Sourcing material has once again become a problem with weekend markets being shut, also over 25% migrant workers have left for their home towns. As a result, running day-to-day work has become a problem. We are not being able to stick to timelines. The completion deadlines of ongoing projects may be affected.” UP-Rera has taken cognizance of the situation. “We understand the current situation and may consider some relaxation for builders in the coming days, though nothing has been decided so far,” UP-Rera member Balvinder Kumar said.

Credai to airlift 250 empty oxygen cylinders from Chennai | Noida News

NOIDA: The Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (Credai), western UP, will airlift 250 empty cylinders from Chennai and hand over them to Gautam Budh Nagar administration to get them filled with oxygen from this week. The builders’ body said it will play an active role in Covid care support in the city. It set up an oxygen concentrator bank on Sunday and distributed 25 concentrators. It also said more oxygen concentrators will be distributed in the coming week. “We will airlift 250 cylinders from Chennai and hand them over to the district administration of Gautam Budh Nagar so that it can get them filled from authorised sources. We will distribute the cylinders and also refill them for patients,” Bajaj added.
