WWE has announced that for the first time ever it will host a pay-per-view on New Year’s Day.
During the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami, it was announced by Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks that WWE hold their first pay-per-view of 2022 on New Year’s Day in Atlanta.
WWE has announced that a brand new PPV event will be held on New Years Day from Atlanta. Saturday January 1st, 2022. WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) July 24, 2021
No further details have been revealed, but we ll keep you updated.
WWE SmackDown aired two matches from the Rolling Loud Festival in Miami, Florida.
In the first match, The Street Profits defeated Alpha Academy and in the second match, SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair retained her title against Carmella.
While the setup was impressive for a wrestling show, the crowd was pretty confused and dead, as they hadn t come to see professional wrestling. Announcers tried their best to cover for the crowd but it was pretty obvious they had little interest.

CM Punk is reportedly returning to the ring with AEW, and his return will no doubt be one of the biggest in some time.
If we go back a few years, we can see just how hot Punk was in 2013 a year before he quit WWE.
At the Payback 2013 pay-per-view, Punk returned to face Chris Jericho after Punk s manager, Paul Heyman, accepted the challenge on his behalf.
The event took place on June 16, 2013 at the Allstate Arena in the Chicago. It was the first annual Payback event and replaced No Way Out.

John Cena appeared on WWE SmackDown tonight to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam. This had been the leading rumor for weeks now.
However, things took a turn in the closing segment of tonight’s show when Roman turned down John Cena’s challenge. Finn Balor then came to the ring and told Reigns if he didn’t want Cena, then maybe he would go up against him.
Reigns accepted.
It isn t clear if they will fight at SummerSlam as it wasn t mentioned, the plan as of this week was still Reigns vs. Cena.

Amidst the rumors that Daniel Bryan may be done with WWE, there s another sign that seems to hint that this is true.
WWE has apparently sent out a memo to the teams working on their upcoming WWE 2K22 video game informing them
not to include Daniel Bryan in the upcoming game.
It s also worth noting that Dave Meltzer has claimed in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the American Dragon and All Elite Wrestling have been in talks for months. The report claims that Bryan had considered going back to WWE, but being able to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling was something that he wanted and can t attain in WWE.
