Marjorie Taylor Greene Compared to Jesus by CNN Interviewee

By Colby HallMay 28th, 2021, 9:07 am   Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is not very well-liked by many, but that’s okay because you know who else wasn’t very popular? Jesus Christ.  That may sound certifiably crazy to some, but it was the assessment of an unidentified attendee at the America First political rally held in Dalton, Georgia Thursday, which was also attended by CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan. The correspondent interviewed a number of rally goers for a piece which CNN’s New Day producers neatly edited into a fascinating and horrifying montage that perfectly illustrates the strange time in which we find ourselves, particularly as many in the Republican party become increasingly unmoored from reality.

REPORT: Paul Ryan Set To Criticize Trump During Speech At Ronald Reagan Library

Font Size: Former Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan is expected to criticize former President Donald Trump in a speech at the Ronald Reagan library Thursday evening. Ryan is expected to slam Trump’s influence on the Republican Party and advise conservatives to embrace “independence and mettle” rather than the former president’s “populist appeal,” in a speech at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California, according to excerpts obtained by CNN. “Once again, we conservatives find ourselves at a crossroads. And here’s one reality we have to face: If the conservative cause depends on the populist appeal of one personality, or on second-rate imitations, then we’re not going anywhere. Voters looking for Republican leaders want to see independence and mettle,” Ryan will say, according to CNN.

Ryan, once a rising star of the Republican Party who lost the battle over the soul of the GOP to Donald Trump, will urge his party Thursday to end its preoccupation with the former president and revive its commitment to conservative values. After years of laying low and only rarely publicly challenging Trump, Ryan, in an evening speech at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, will describe conservatives as at “a crossroads.”
