SHOPLIFTERS of small and large items are always appearing in court charged with taking what isn’t theirs. Here are some shoplifters from around Berkshire who have been in the dock for thieving over the past few weeks.
Laura Mason, stole meat worth £280 from a Co-op supermarket on two days back in June 2020. Having previously pleaded guilty, the 42-year-old from Washington Drive in Slough changed her plea at Reading Magistrates Court earlier this month. She was due to appear at Slough Magistrates Court again on Friday, April 16.
Leanne McDonald nicked perfume and other goods totalling more than £1,100 from Sainsbury’s in August of last year.

Fines for Goods Vehicle Overloading. A NUMBER of drivers passing through Bracknell and surrounding areas have faced court fines for illegally driving vehicles too heavy for the roads. The patrols checking these vehicle weights were carried out by the Public Protection Partnership (PPP), which is comprised of teams from the Bracknell Forest Council, the Wokingham Borough Council, and the West Berkshire Council. On August 27 2020, Police and a Public Protection Enforcement Officer were engaged in road traffic enforcement activities in Bracknell when at around 8.15am they saw a Ford Transit van travelling on the B3480 London Road. The vehicle seemed to be low on its rear springs and under some strain, so the police officer caused the vehicle to stop.

Brendan Ryce, of Blackwater Close in Spencers Wood, will spend eight weeks in jail after beating a police officer in October last year. The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to the assault at Reading Magistrates Court on Thursday, April 1.
Fahrid Ahad will also spend time behind bars after beating a police officer in Reading on the January 3, 2021. The 33-year-old, of no fixed abode, will be locked up for ten weeks having pleaded guilty to the attack.

A MUM-OF-TWO found stabbed in the neck and chest has been pictured for the first time as her ex-army medic “on-off boyfriend” has been charged with her murder.
Emma McArthur, 43, died from her injuries shortly after being discovered near Thatcham, Berks, on Thursday night.
