The Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology met with Rubina Khalid in the chair, here on Monday.
The Ministry of IT officials told the committee that they are providing facilities to IT professionals, and have started training programs for around 25,000 per annum.
Further it is also training freelancers, out of 1.7 million freelancers, 500,000 freelancers are earning monthly.
Further, third-party monitoring is also being carried as well as online monitoring.
The issue of ban on social media was raised in detail in the committee meeting.
Chairperson Committee Senator Rubina Khalid said that parents should be made aware – responsibility should be given to parents and families. It is not the job of the PTA to shut things down.

Senate Committee Recommends Plan of Action to Tackle Unemployment
A legislative governing body comprising senators and ministerial representatives has recommended the facilitation of Ph.D. degree holders and government workers to mitigate the unemployment crisis across Pakistan.
The meeting was convened on Wednesday under the Senate’s blueprint for Federal Education Professional Training, National History, and Literary Heritage, and chaired, in principle, by Senator Engr. Rukhsana Zuberi.

The Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Wajiha Akram, attended the meeting, along with senators, ministerial representatives, and other concerned officials.

Members of the opposition in the Senate on Monday expressed concern over alleged “disrespect” with which they said the body of Baloch rights activist Karima Baloch was treated before being laid to rest in her hometown in Balochistan.
Karima Baloch, who was also known as Karima Mehrab, had gone missing in Toronto’s downtown waterfront area last month and her body was found a day later. She was living in the Canadian city in exile for about five years.
