Bucks hospitals offering covid vaccines by invite-only

Bucks and Montgomery County hospitals have started vaccinating people against the fast-spreading COVID-19 virus, but, for now, it s an invitation-only event. Local hospitals have started scheduling appointments and distributing the vaccine, but some are only offering appointments to patients in their own health systems who meet the eligibility criteria, officials said.  Later this month Lower Bucks Hospital anticipates it will begin distributing the COVID-19 vaccine to the first individuals who signed up through Bucks County agencies. The dates for the vaccine clinic at the Bristol Township hospital were pending as of Tuesday, spokeswoman Michelle Aliprantis said. The hospital is scheduling patients through the Bucks County Health Improvement Project and the county Department of Health, Aliprantis said.

Mayor Deborah Bargo swore Goss in during the meeting. Topics approved during the regular agenda include: EADS Feasibility Study agreement signed with the Lewistown Borough signed was approved. The Waste Water Treatment Plant Crane Enclosure budget was approved. The approval to purchase a Ford crew cab using 60% Capital and 40% State Liquid fuel funds was approved. Fire Chief Bob Barlett announced the fire department ran 23 calls in the month of January. Chief Barlett stated all 3 stations applied for COVID grants and all 3 have received them.

NEWTOWN, PA People in the area may or may not know the name Dr. Frank Erdman Boston, but they should. A WWI veteran, Boston is one of the first African Americans to start both a hospital and ambulance corps, which he did almost 100 years ago. Both still are around today. At 3 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 25, Boston will be the subject of a virtual panel discussion presented by Bucks County Community College, Bucks County Commissioners and The Boston Legacy Foundation.
