The incident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on March 31, when a 43-year-old resident said he was approached by several men while walking to his car. During the ensuing struggle the victim was struck with a machete, causing superficial wounds to his upper body, police said. Officers who arrived at the scene pulled over a gray sedan that matched descriptions of a suspect vehicle. By running a records check they found the vehicle was reported stolen from a neighboring jurisdiction days earlier.
