Two accused of shooting inside Onion Lake home appear in court

The occupants inside the home escaped to a nearby residence and were unharmed. Police say the suspects fled Onion Lake, Sask., and headed towards the border city of Lloydminster. Alberta RCMP issued a media release warning the public that the two were at large and considered armed and dangerous. Swiftwolfe pleads not guilty

Swiftwolfe has been in custody since multiple RCMP detachments – including the North Battleford RCMP Gang Task Force - teamed up to locate and arrest him. Swiftwofe was arrested on Highway 40 near Sweetgrass First Nation on Dec. 6, 2020. When police arrested him they found a loaded firearm in the vehicle that was within his reach. When RCMP issued the public warning about Swiftwolfe, in describing him they said he has the word “Westside” tattooed on the right side of his face and neck. Westside Outlaws is a street gang that started in Onion Lake Cree Nation.The charges against Swiftwolfe haven’t been proven in court.
