LAURENTIAN VALLEY – The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating the theft of a grey 2018 Arctic Cat Pantera 6000 snowmobile. The snowmobile was stolen from the lot of an automotive dealer on Pembroke Street West in Laurentian Valley Township during the overnight hours of Jan. 30-31, 2021.

Drugs and counterfeit money seized by OPP
Police have arrested a Pembroke resident in relation to crimes committed in downtown Pembroke and in Laurentian Valley.

On the afternoon of Jan. 27, the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located and arrested a person wanted in relation to shoplifting incidents that happened in downtown Pembroke on Jan. 17, 2021 and in the Township of Laurentian Valley back in October, 2020. The accused was found to be in possession of illegal drugs and counterfeit Canadian currency.

The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating after two separate complaints of attempted prescription fraud at local pharmacies.
On Jan. 25, an unknown person(s) faxed fraudulent prescription orders to pharmacies in Pembroke and Petawawa. The prescriptions were not filled and an investigation is underway to determine the source of the false prescription orders.

HEAD, CLARA AND MARIA TWP. – The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating the theft of a blue 2000 Yamaha SRX 700 snowmobile. The snowmobile was parked along Bissett Creek Road in Head, Clara and Maria Township near the entrance to Algonquin Park when it was stolen sometime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Jan. 15. Ontario marker 883639 is displayed on the snowmobile.

Commercial break-in under investigation

The break, enter and theft, which was reported Nov. 30, 2020, took place at a business on Paul Martin Drive in Pembroke. The suspect or suspects entered a storage trailer between Nov. 28 and 30, and stole a Stihl brush cutter and a Stihl hedge trimmer.
