Six residents of Renfrew County and district are in hospital, including one person in intensive care, receiving treatment for COVID-19.
The May 3 case summary update posted on the Renfrew County and District Health Unit website Monday afternoon shows 47 active cases with 41 individuals self-isolating. The health unit reported just one new case Monday, but has reported 18 cases since April 29 (May 2 – nine, May 1 – six and April 30 –two). Among the new cases is one case health-care worker employed in Renfrew County and district, two students and 15 community cases. The location of the new cases is as follows: five in Arnprior, four in Whitewater Region, three in Greater Madawaska, two each in Petawawa and Laurentian Valley and one each in Madawaska Valley and Renfrew.

Residents of Renfrew County and district age 55 to 59 can now pre-register for COVID-19 vaccination appointments.
Although the Ontario government has expanded eligibility to residents age 55 and over across the province, because of limited vaccine supply from the province, the Renfrew County and District Health Unit cannot yet open the local booking system. Appointments for residents 55 and over will be open May 5. To register visit https://bit.ly/3u9ulPo.
