County moving to a daily COVID-19 vaccine clinic inside a local church

Starting the following Monday, March 22, local health officials will move to a daily vaccine clinic. That will be hosted in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church, 101 E. First Ave., across from the Post Office. The clinic will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments are required. They can be scheduled online at https://forms.renogov.org/rchd/covid19-registration/, or if computer access is limited, call the Health Department at 620-694-2900 and select option 6.  The county has now moved into Phase 2C of distribution under the state’s guidelines. If you are a worker providing critical services, and your job requires consistent and close contact with a large number of individuals, then you are a High-Contact Critical Worker and can schedule your appointment at this time.

Reno County drops to Yellow alert, mass vaccination clinics continue

Reno County moved back into its “Yellow alert status on Tuesday, as Kansas marked a year and a day of the COVID-19 pandemic being declared in the state.  That is the lowest active alert level on the county’s dashboard, indicating a “moderate to low number of cases, with most from a known source of exposure.” Reno County Health officials, meanwhile, announced they have scheduled three more COVID-19 first-dose mass distribution clinics and three second-dose events over the next three weeks at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. After that, officials tentatively projected, the county may be able to move into the next category of vaccine recipients under phase 2 of the state’s distribution guidelines, which would be people living in congregate settings and “critical workers in high-contact jobs.”
